Image Tools
Turn a photo from your phone into a passport photo at the exact size your country asks for, and hear what would get it turned down before you send it. Make photos smaller without a visible drop in quality — one or a whole folder. Or cut the subject out of a photo and get it back on a see-through background.
Everything happens on your device — your files are never uploaded
A clear photo taken straight on, against a plain wall. JPEG, PNG or WebP.
How this works
A booth costs about £12. A print of six costs about 30p.
- 1
Take the photo
Stand about an arm and a half from the camera, facing a plain, light wall. Even light on your face, no hat, no smile, eyes open.
- 2
Drop it here
Your face is found and your head is measured on your own device. The photo is never uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to.
- 3
Print it anywhere
Save one photo for an online form, or save a sheet of copies and hand it to any shop that prints 6 × 4 photos.
This tool crops and sizes. It does not retouch your face or your background, because most passport offices refuse a photo that has been edited.
What is the photo for?
Every country asks for a different size, and a different head height within it.
- Photo
- 35 × 45 mm
- Head
- 29–34 mm
Background: Plain light grey or cream.
The photo must have been taken in the last month.
Neutral expression, mouth closed, eyes open, no head tilt.
Do not retouch the photo. Cropping and resizing are fine; changing the background or the face is not.

Compression settings
Applied to every image in the batch. Change them and re-run as often as you like.
Lower means a smaller file — softer detail in JPEG and WebP, fewer colours in PNG.
Resize
Images keep their original pixel size.
Output format
WebP usually wins — same visual quality, noticeably smaller than JPEG or PNG.
EXIF metadata is always stripped. Re-encoding rebuilds each image from its pixels, so camera model, timestamps and GPS location are dropped from every file you download. There is no switch to turn this off, and nothing to opt out of.
No images yet
Select as many photos as you like and drop them in together. Each one is decoded, resized and re-encoded by this page itself — so the batch can be as big as your machine can handle, and nothing leaves it.
